Crochet Puff Flower Motif {free crochet pattern}

Here is the last of the patterns to prepare you to make my crochet yoga mat bag! Stick around tomorrow to get the yoga bag pattern! This is the puff flower motif pattern that I made to decorate the bag, complete with a step-by-step photo tutorial. Of course, it can be used to decorate all sorts of fun projects, like a hat, scarf, or tote bag! You can find the free patterns for the strap here and the yoga mat pattern here.

Yarn: Worsted Weight
Hook: H
Abbreviations
CH = chain
SL ST = slip stitch
SC = single crochet
HDC = half double crochet
CH 3
SL ST to form a ring
CH 2 (counts as first SC)
Work 9 SC in the loop
SL ST to join to beginning CH 2
CH 2
Work a Puff Stitch in the same space (see my puff stitch tutorial for more help)
*CH 3
Skip one space
Work a Puff Stitch in the next space*
Repeat from * all the way around until you have 5 puff stitch petals. CH 3 at the end and join to the beginning CH 2 and fasten off.
Attach new color with a SL ST, then CH 2
Work 2 HDC in the CH 3 of the previous color.
*CH 3
Work 3 HDC in the CH 3 of the previous color.*
Repeat from * all the way around until you have worked the group of 3 HDCs in each CH 3 space. Join to the beginning CH 2 with a SL ST and fasten off.
