I am so excited about this giveaway because it marries two of my passions – green living and crocheting! I have crocheted a 100% organic baby cocoon, made by Lion Brand’s Nature’s Choice Organic Cotton. It has a flap on the front to use at the very beginning when the baby is tiny, then you can undo the button as the baby grows. I would use this cocoon while pushing the baby around outside in the stroller and in the crib as a swaddle.

It measures 23″ long and 10″ wide, so it should last well into the third month or even longer! For the free crochet pattern to make this cocoon, click here. For more information on the yarn used, click here.

It has this wonderfully luxurious texture – the yarn is some of the softest I have ever worked with and I crocheted a ribbed pattern. The colors just look ever so natural and green.

Mountain Rose Herbs is also participating by offering two organic herbal teas that are formulated for new mommies! I absolutely love their teas, and the packaging they come in is dyed with soy dyes and made with all recycled materials. They are one company I can really stand behind and support!
The first is Organic Fecundi-Tea. Here is their description:

This tea is delicious anytime, for anyone, but is especially beneficial during the nine months of pregnancy. We think it’s serendipitous that it just happens to have nine ingredients! This refreshing and soothing blend is formulated to support general uterine health during pregnancy, and the mint and ginger make it especially refreshing for those queasy moments.

Contains: organic Spearmint, organic Lemon Balm, organic Nettle leaf, organic Dandelion leaf, organic Raspberry leaf, organic Oatstraw, organic Alfalfa, organic Ginger, and organic Lemon peel.

Here is their description:

During the first precious months of life, tiny human beings need love, comfort, and the very best nutrition available. This delicious and invigorating blend is formulated to support healthy lactation to nourish your little one.

Contains: organic Red Rooibos Tea, organic Raspberry leaf, organic Lemon Balm, organic Fenugreek seed, organic Fennel seed, organic Marshmallow root, organic Blessed Thistle, organic Rosehips, and organic Anise seed.
