Crochet 3-D Flower {free crochet pattern}

Today we're going to learn how to make the 3-D curly flower that goes with the V-Stitch Cuff Bracelet I designed! This flower is neat because the ends of it curl up, giving it it's name.

You will need to know how to work in the round, double crochet, single crochet, chain and slip stitch. See my tutorial on how to work on the round if you need.

Here is the pattern without pictures (for a print friendly version, click the link at the bottom of this page):

Crochet 3-D Flower
Written by Sara McFall

Hook: G, 4.25 mm
Yarn: Worsted, I used Lion Brand's Vanna White collection here

Abbreviations
CH = chain
SL ST = slip stitch
SC = single crochet
DC = double crochet

Pattern
CH 3
SL ST to form a ring
CH 2
9 SC in ring (10 total)
SL ST to join

Round 2
*CH 5
In 3rd CH from hook, work 1 DC
Work another DC in next CH
Work a SC in last CH

SL ST in next space*

Repeat from * all the way around and after the last SL ST, join to the beginning CH 1 of the CH 5.

Make 2 of them if you like, and sew them together, rotating the top one so all the petals from both flowers can be seen. Sew a button in the middle et voila! C'est fini!

Photo Tutorial
Step #1 – Chain 3, join to make a ring with a slip stitch, then chain 2

Step #2 – Work 9 single crochet in ring for a total of 10 single crochet stitches. Join with a slip stitch, and chain 5

Step #3 –  In 3rd chain from the hook, work 1 double crochet. Work another double crochet in the next chain, and a single crochet in the last chain.

Step #4 – Work a slip stitch in the next space (not the same space where the chain 5 comes from, but the one after)

Step #5 – Chain 5 and repeat steps 3 to 4 until you have made 5 petals. After the last slip stitch, join with a slip stitch to the beginning chain at the chain 1.

If you like, make 2 and sew them together so one is rotated on the top of the other and all the petals can be seen! Then, add your favorite bling in the middle.

See how they curl up and make the 3-D effect?

Add to the V-Stitch Cuff Bracelet or the Shell Bracelet. Merry Crocheting! Enjoy!
