This is a super easy, all natural, moisturizing body wash that you can use on anyone of all ages – it is so gentle because it doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural sebum with synthetic detergents.
This recipe employs my natural living superpower – castile soap. This stuff rocks, ya’ll, it is magical just like the bottles say! I make: homemade cleaners, shampoo, hand soap, laundry detergent, wash the dog with it, and more. I even wrote an entire post just about it. It can clean anything. In fact, just today, one of my three sons drew all over their marker board with a permanent marker. I thought for sure we’d have to just throw it out, but guess what? I tried my homemade cleaner with castile soap and Purification essential oil blend and voila! After it soaked for about a minute, it literally started wiping right off!
I’ve been washing my birthday suit with this recipe for years and also use it on my children and have since they were babies, too. One gallon of castile soap (where to buy) lasts me an entire year, even though I use it for so many things. Talk about CHEAP!
Note: I have very dry skin, but I don’t need to smother myself with lotion after showering like I used to after washing with even moisturizing body washes like Dove. So, I don’t add the extra moisture to my recipe, but you can if you like.
Homemade All Natural Foaming Body Wash

- 1 ounce castile soap (where to buy)
- 4-6 drops of your favorite essential oil (see ideas below) (where to buy high quality essential oils)
- Optional for moisture: add a teaspoon of your favorite carrier oil (olive, jojoba, grapeseed, almond, etc.) or a several tablespoons of liquid aloe vera gel (where to buy)
Here are my favorite oils to add to my bath and body wash!
Stress Away – a blended oil of lime, copaiba, vanilla, cedarwood, ocotea and lavender. It smells DIVINE and really does help melt the stress away. It is good for tired, sore muscles, too.
Cedarwood – very woodsy, earthy smell. Great for men, but it’s actually one of my favorite scents! It’s very relaxing and calming, great right before bed.
Aroma Siez – a blended oil of basil, marjoram, lavender, peppermint and cypress – perfect to ease tired, sore muscles after a strenuous workout or long day. It’s also an invigorating way to start the day with the peppermint and basil!
Lavender – known for its ability to relax and calm, it can also ease sore muscles and it smells wonderful!
Dragon Time – a blended oil of clary sage, fennel, lavender, marjoram, yarrow and jasmine. Great for balancing womens’ hormones, can also use during menstrual cycles to ease cramps, moodiness and more.
