We took another day trip back to Chiemsee to take the ferry to see Herrenchiemsee – a palace built King Ludwig II to look like Versailles!
Our Story
In February of 2021, we packed up our American family of six, with four kids ages 11 and under, and moved halfway across the world to Germany to follow our dream of living in Europe again! When we were first married, we lived for two years in France and fell in love with the European way of life. Moving to Germany has been a whirlwind, especially with four kids in tow, but we’re already growing stronger and better from the experiences we are having. It has NOT been easy, but that’s how it usually is in life when you go after your dreams!

Herrenchiemsee – A Copy of Versailles in Germany!
We had SO much fun visiting Herrenchiemsee with our four kids! It’s a very family friendly touristy spot. This is known as Germany’s Versailles, though there is another copy of Versailles in Potsdam, Germany! So hopefully we can visit that one sometime soon, too. We had the palace gardens to ourselves, thanks to the pandemic. We weren’t able to go inside, but the kids really enjoyed the gardens, fountains, ice cream, romping in the woods, ferry ride, and just spending the day outside as a family. It was lovely and we hope you enjoy our video!

Hi Sara, like you videos about you and family in Germany.
I’m just watching “we bought our first car”
I have a question about car insurance:,
I remember they use to have different rating for different age and years of driving. Like rating.
When you bought your car insurance, did they asked you about a letter / certificate from your previous insurer back in US to offer you a better rate,?
I’m moving back to Germany after 33 years, was wondering if I need to get a letter from insurer here in Australia.
