Crochet Spring Dress with Flower - Free pattern!

I needed a simple and easy dress for my daughters to wear during their playdates, so the obvious solution as a crocheting mama was to make a dress for each of them. So, I grabbed a bunch of yarn and started experimenting. Here is what I came up with, and I'm so pleased! I just love it.  It makes it look like I spent a lot of time getting them dressed when truthfully, we probably took five minutes total putting together the look.  The flower was added at Lili's request. She wore it on top of a cute white shirt and white shorts.

This pattern is considered easy.  It uses combinations of single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and cluster stitches to achieve the look.  If you are not familiar with the cluster stitch that is listed, then you should practice the gauge swatch pattern provided.  After you have mastered the cluster stitch, you will be able to complete the pattern with ease.

  1. Hello Stacy, thank you so much for this pattern, Simple Spring Dress. I want to make it for my first great granddaughter, Casandra Rose. She is just 17 months and a charmer, funny and wonderful. I’m going to make this one, the 2 year old using Caron Simply Soft in Rainbow Bright. She loves colors. Then do the 4 and 6 year old ones in different solid colors. I’m 77, and retired so all I do is crochet and hunt for patterns.
    Thank YOU!

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by, Diane! Hope you enjoy making this dress and I’m sure your granddaughter will look so cute in it!

  2. Hi Stacey, I don’t understand the cluster stitch as you describe it. Is there a link to a video tutorial to do the stitch as you do it? I looked on youtube, but I couldn’t find anything skipping a chain and then crocheting into the previous chain. I’m a brand new crocheter, so I’m probably missing something. THANKS. –Lisa
