Time to Clean with Me!
Set your timers for 15 minutes and begin cleaning in your Zone 1. These cleaning videos aren’t interesting for a reason – so you won’t watch me clean, but you clean with me. If you want to play my video so we can clean together, it’s here for that purpose!
Zone 1 Cleaning List
First we will make our Zone 1 cleaning list. Remember, you won’t clean all of these items each month. Some of them you might clean every 2-3 months or more (like cleaning the spider webs out of corners). I have ideas for what to clean in this section below. Also, this is my own personal list. Maybe you don’t have a dedicated laundry room, or an entryway. Customize it to make it work for you!
Then, set your timer for 15 minutes and pick a few items off of your Zone 1 list, then start cleaning! Or delegate this item – whatever you decide.
Example of a Zone 1 Cleaning List
Here’s an example of my Zone 1 Cleaning list. We will all have different items and different houses, so customize it for your living space!

Declutter
Set a timer for 10-15 and focus on one area, otherwise you might make a huge mess that you’ll have to clean up later! And then you’ll not want to declutter again for a few weeks or longer. The idea here is that we consistently declutter so that our houses stay organized. You can use the declutter printable to keep track of these items, which I’ve added again for you below.
- Shoes
- Coats and jackets
- Bookbags
- Outdoor gear drawers – hats, gloves, scarves, sunscreen
- Entry way table drawers
- Laundry supplies
Out of Stock Items
In each zone list, I keep a place where I can write down things in that zone that are out of stock. Then when I make my grocery list each week, I can add these items to the list, or order them online.
Projects
Here I write down anything that needs to be fixed in that zone, and then communicate it with my hubby if I can’t fix it myself. Add items needed for that project to your grocery list to get to on the next errand day.
