How to Make an Aromatherapy Inhaler for Healthy Breathing

Make your own aromatherapy inhaler with essential oils to use when your nose needs relief! Thankfully they're super easy to make and use.

When to Use Them

We often need the most breathing support when the seasons are changing, pollen is everywhere, ragweed is growing, the grass is getting cut, and during those long winter months when we are cooped up inside. So do it anytime your nose or sinuses don't feel quite right.

How to Use an Aromatherapy Inhaler

Unscrew the bottom of your aromatherapy inhaler off of the container, then hold it up to your nose and take several deep breaths. (See the cotton pad in the picture? Looks like a mini tampon LOL. That's the part to which you will apply the oils.) Do this as often as you need to! You could even use this for focus and concentration!

The Brand I Recommend

I have used many different brands of essential oils and keep coming back to Young Living Essential Oils. They are the oldest and longest-running essential oils company in the world with the most research and knowledge out there, plus I have found their oils to be of superior quality. They actually work, which is not something I can say of other brands I've used. To learn more about these oils, check out my oils page here!

How to Safely Use Essential Oils

Breathe Them In

Using essential oils can literally be as easy as breathing them in, either straight from the bottle or you can put a few drops in the palms of your hand and breathe in.

Also, you can run your diffuser with literally any oil that smells appealing to you (they all will help your body, mind and spirit) for four hours a day. It’s really easy to turn it on right before you go to sleep for healthy breathing and sleeping.

Can Use Them Internally

The oils with the white labels (vitality oils) are for internal use! The bottles of the same name (so Lemon Vitality and Lemon) actually contain the exact same thing, but they are labeled differently to make it easy to you know which ones are safe to ingest.

Just put a drop of your favorite vitality oil in your water (any of the citrus oils will do) or coffee each morning (cinnamon or Thieves) and enjoy! It adds a ton of flavor and helps to keep your body healthy.

Use Directly on the Skin

All of the recipes in this post are to be used topically, on the skin. Be sure to dilute your essential oils with a carrier oil  like Fractionated Coconut or Sweet Almond oils as essential oils are very potent and strong and could irritate the skin if used undiluted. Diluting them also helps the oils to last longer!
